I’m in a forum that meets monthly for personal growth and development. We have very structured meetings with presentations and coaching at each one. And every single month I walk away feeling like the luckiest woman, supported by 4 other amazing women that have become incredibly important to me. We move heaven and earth to make these meetings work each month; we’re all busy moms, we all have outside lives clamoring for our attention. And yet, each month, we meet. We meet with complete vulnerability and zero judgment. I’ve spilled out my heart in front of these people and they’ve shared their own stories with different perspectives…no advice, just simply sharing personal experiences in response to a presentation given.
Today was one of those days. It was my turn to present an issue today, and honestly? I didn’t feel like I really had an “issue” to present. But I crafted up a simple draft and hoped for the best. I had no idea how many layers of the onion we’d end up peeling away, or how effective the coaching would be. What happens in that room, stays in that room, but I can tell you I walked away so much lighter and so incredibly grateful for the quality people in my life.
I hope you, my dear readers, have someone that will stand in the gap for you when you want to grow and learn, and understand yourself. If nothing else, I hope you have your full, authentic self on board. We are given one body/mind/soul in this life. We can take it through each day, surviving, waiting for the next milestone, the next paycheck, the next promotion. Or, in true gratitude, knowing that how we are created is no accident, we can constantly evolve and grow.
